An autopsy on a man who died in police custody Monday is so far inconclusive, police said Wednesday.
Jonathan Watson, 46, of Ocean View became unresponsive after being taken into custody. Police tried to resuscitate him while firefighters arrived.
Officers arrived at his home in response to a report that a man had been shot.
Watson, who had a gunshot wound to his left leg, began fighting with officers, police say.
The wound was believed to have been accidentally self-inflicted and not life threatening.
Toxicology results are still pending.
Police say an investigation into the death of someone in custody is standard practice.
